If the problem isn’t yours...don’t make it your problem...but if someone asks you to help w/ a problem that isn’t yours...then help them.

I can only imagine when I first made this "note to self". Isn't it interesting how we can always find time to get muddled up in a problem that isn't ours? Usually it's a problem we can't fix and one into which we shouldn't stick our nose! Our "help" usually consists of listening to the "dirt"....you know?

On the other hand, when someone has a real problem and asks for help we can often feel as if they are imposing on us and adding to our already heavy burden! "Just tell me the dirt and let me live my life!" is what I often think we really would like to say...

We're a strange lot aren't we?
